From December 1998 to March 1, 2001, Mr. Verdi served as Chief Operating Officer of Provident. He joined Healthaxis Inc. as its Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on December 1, 1999. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of HAXS of BPO Management Services, Inc. from April 1, 2000 to March 1, 2001. From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Verdi served as Chief Financial Officer of Provident American Corporation. From 1986 to 1990, he served as Vice-President and Controller for the Inter County Hospitalization and Health Plans, a Group Medical Insurer, where he was responsible for accounting, actuarial and underwriting functions as well as strategic initiatives, which ultimately resulted in the acquisition of it by Pennsylvania Blue Shield. From 1971 to 1986, he served in various finance and accounting capacities for the Academy Insurance Group, ultimately serving as the Assistant Controller responsible for SEC and management reporting. From 2001 to November 2005, Mr. Verdi provided consulting services to life, health and property and casualty insurance company agency and venture capital clients, which consulting services has included interim management and advice regarding acquisitions, divestitures, product development, reinsurance programs, regulatory interaction, operations, organizational development and personnel recruiting.
