In 2002, prior to joining Carlin Financial Group, he founded NextGen Trading, where he developed proprietary arbitrage trading software. During this time, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Head Portfolio Manager of Frommer Investment Partners, a hedge fund that he founded. Previously, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager for Bank of America Securities, Inc.’s proprietary merger arbitrage and special situations group, where he was responsible for the performance of a $1+ billion portfolio. During his tenure, Mr. Frommer realized the benefits of applying technology to facilitate merger arbitrage. Prior to his tenure at Bank of America, he served as Director of Merger Arbitrage and Event Driven Trading at the Royal Bank of Canada where he was responsible for the performance of a $500+MM portfolio and managing a team of traders and analysts. At this time, Royal Bank of Canada was at the forefront of applying emerging technologies to its trading strategies. He has also held a number of senior positions with a range of prestigious financial institutions, including Bankers Trust and Kidder Peabody & Co.
