Mr. Dennis M. Oates, also known as Denny, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. since January 02, 2008. Mr. Oates served as Senior Vice President of Specialty Alloys Operations at Carpenter Technology Corporation from September 30, 2003 to July 26, 2007 and its Senior Vice President of Engineered Products Operations from September 30, 2003 to June 30, 2004. Mr. Oates was responsible for revenue growth and operational effectiveness for Carpenter's titanium, metal powder and engineered products companies. He is a seasoned metals executive and served as the Principal of Oates & Associates, a Philadelphia-based consulting firm. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of TW Metals Inc. from 1997 to 2002 and President and Chief Operating Officer of the Boston-based Connell Limited Partnership from 1995 to 1997. Mr. Oates' career was spent at the former Lukens, Inc., in Coatesville, Pa. Mr. Oates served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Lukens' General Industries Group since 1989 and previously served in finance, manufacturing, corporate development and sales areas. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Lukens Steel Co., since 1992. He serves as the Chairman of Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA) from 2011 to 2016. In 2016, Mr. Oates became the Chairman of Specialty Steel Institute of North America. Mr. Oates is a current Board Member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Three Rivers Chapter. He has been the Chairman of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. since May 2010 and has been its Director since October 19, 2007. Mr. Oates served as Chairman of the North American Specialty Metals Council and previously served on the Metals Service Center Institute Board of Directors. Mr. Oates holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Temple University.

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and markets semi-finished and finished specialty steel products in the United States and internationally. Its products include stainless steel, nickel alloys, tool steel, and various other alloyed steels. The company offers semi-finished and finished long products in the form of ingots, blooms, billets, and bars; flat rolled products, such as slabs and plates; and customized shapes primarily for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), which are cold rolled from purchased coiled strip, flat bar, or extruded bar. Its semi-finished long products are primarily used to produce finished bars and rods; and finished bar products that are principally used by OEMs and by service center customers for distribution to various end users. The company also offers conversion services on materials supplied by its customers. Its products are also used in aerospace, power generation, oil and gas, heavy equipment, general, and automotive industries, as well as in the manufacturing of equipment for food handling, health and medical, chemical processing, and pollution control; and manufacturing of metals, plastics, paper and aluminum extrusions, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and optics. The company sells its products to service centers, forgers, rerollers, and OEMs. Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc.was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
