Mr. John Peter Calamos, Sr. is the Founder, Chairman and Global Chief Investment Officer of Calamos Investments LLC. Mr. Calamos founded the firm in 1977. He is the Founder, Global Chief Investment Officer, and Chairman since 2004 of Calamos Asset Management, Inc. and previously served as the Chief Executive Officer until April 6, 2016 and Global Co-Chief Investment Officer. He serves as the Chairman, Global Co-Chief Investment Officer, and Portfolio Manager at Calamos Advisors LLC. He previously served as the Chief Executive officer at the firm. He has engineered strategies and techniques to help manage risk for major institutional and individual investors. Mr. Calamos experience includes developing research and investment processes and building a team-based approach focused on delivering value-added performance. He has established a long-term performance record across an array of investment strategies ranging from conservative to aggressive. Mr. Calamos has pioneered investment strategies, specializing in investment research and portfolio management of convertible securities for major institutional and individual investors throughout the country. He has extensive industry experience. He served as a combat pilot in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and ultimately earned the rank of Major. He has taught graduate level courses on Finance and Investments and is frequently quoted as an authority on convertible securities, risk-managed investment strategies, markets and the economy in Barron's, Fortune, Forbes, Pensions & Investments, Financial World, Nation's Business, The Wall Street Journal and on CNBC and Bloomberg Forum.
