He has close to 25 years of extensive international mining experience, including mine development planning, project development, operations management, commercial negotiations, project and debt financing and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Major served as the Chief Operating Officer of Ecometals Ltd., since April 2008, overcoming political and legal issues in South America to advance its exploration and development projects. During the first half of his career, he worked in several roles, including production, planning and project engineering in various countries in Africa, with a focus on base and precious metals. His highlights included being the Chief Planning Engineer for the development of the first open pit platinum mine in the region, Potgietersrust Platinums. Mr. Major was Chief Executive and later Non-Executive Chairman of Basic Element Mining and Resource Group. Mr. Major served at Basic Element since 2003, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the resource division, specifically responsible for development of the mining and other assets in Russia. He served as a Director of Resources Sector and Member of Management Board of Basic Element Company. He started his career in 1987 as an Engineer of Rio Tinto in Namibia and held numerous other roles with major mining companies including JCI, Anglo American. He served as a Partner in a mining consultancy. He served as an Investment Banker and served as the Senior Mining Analyst, Equity Analyst and Research Analyst of HSBC, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase & Co, Research Division, where he was part of the No.1 rated Global Mining Team. He served as Non Executive Chairman at Ecometals Ltd. until November 2012. He has been a Director of GoviEx Uranium Inc. since October 26, 2012. He has been a Director of Zaruma Resources Inc. since June 15, 2010 and Century Mining Corp. since January 4, 2011. He serves as a Representative of Gravity Ltd. He served as a Director of Red Tiger Mining Inc. from June 15, 2010 to May 14, 2012 and Ecometals Ltd. from December 3, 2008 to May 9, 2013. He served as a Director of White Tiger Gold Ltd. since October 2011. Mr. Major holds a Bachelor in Engineering with Honors from the Camborne School of Mining and achieved his Chartered Engineering degree from the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
