Mr. Merrill served as the Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Vice President of Beazer Homes USA, Inc. since joining it in May 2007 to June 13, 2011. He served as an Executive Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development of Move, Inc. from October 2001 to April 2007. He served as the President of Homebuilder.com from April 2000 to October 2001. He joined Move, Inc. following a 13-year tenure, from 1987 to March 2000, with the investment banking firm UBS Investment Bank (and its predecessor Dillon, Read & Co.), where he served as a Managing Director and served as Co-Head of the Global Resources Group, oversaw the construction and building materials, chemicals, forest products, mining and energy industry groups. He serves as a Director of Builder Homesite, Inc. He has been a Director at Beazer Homes USA, Inc. since June 13, 2011. He is a Member of the Urban Land Institute and the Policy Advisory Board of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University and the Homebuilding Community Foundation.
